poster: Jen date: 4 April 2002, 1:46am EST "I was thinking that we should see if Cassie's okay." "Why wouldn't she be?" "She spent all that time with a loonie - I was freaked out by it after being there five minutes. Fuck knows how she feels after being there all day." At least he didn’t hurt her. Some bruises but nothing serious. It could have been much worse. "Fine. Can we look for her after chemistry? I really don’t need to miss class, especially after ticking McCoy off last night." "Sure. I’ll find you after class, okay?" I love that smile. Like he’ll really be looking forward to seeing me later. Makes me feel warm all over. Mmm. And that kiss is nice too. Soft and sweet and... makes my lips tingle. "I really gotta go," I said, breaking the kiss. "And so do you." ***** Max picked me up from class, I could hear him chuckling as I thumped my head on my desk. "Rough class?" I looked up, shaking my head in utter defeat. "Chemistry sucks." "It’s not that bad, Sare." "Yes it is and I’m sure McCoy’s a great teacher, bit if the man is speaking English; it’s news to me." "Heh. He can be hard to understand. I’ll give you a hand later, okay?" Oh goody. Now Max will get to find out just how stupid I really am. Joy. I forced a smile on my face. "Sounds great." "Come on. I saw Kurt and Cass out on the back lawn."
poster: Allison date: 4 April 2002, 2:28am EST Annie Gallagher swung her old car up the long driveway of the Xavier Mansion, and around the back lot until she found a parking space filled with classy, clean cars. Her 1970 Dodge Challenger stood out like a sore thumb. There were a few people milling around the lot, laughing and talking, they all turned to look at her car, windows shaking due to the high volume of her music. She sat there, not worried about her ear drums, before cutting the engine. She opened the door and stepped out before leaning into the backseat. To the others in the parking lot, she was a pair of rolled up army fatigues, with a car attached. She reemerged with a large garbage bag filled with her belongings. When she left Sedona she wasn’t too worried about packing neatly, she just emptied her draws into the bags and threw them in the trunk before hightailing it out of there. She heard somebody snigger, "Great another Army brat, just what we need." "The Army doesn’t let you die your hair teal," an authorative voice replied. Annie slammed the door, and turned to face the teenagers, "Where can I find Xavier?" poster: nacey date: 6 April 2002, 2:16am EST The strange car had swept up the driveway and into the parking lot where most of the staff left their cars. I was curious, and so I looked to Sarah. "Wanna go check it out?" "Sure," she replied. The area where she parked was where a lot of the younger students hung out, and they were notorious for being a little cold to new mutants. Not because they were bad kids, but because this was their haven, and they clung desperately onto the little bit of security they had. One kid sniggered about this girl being an army brat, and I could feel my non-existent fur bristling. "The Army doesn't let you die your hair teal," I muttered, weaving through the bunch of kids that were gawking at the latest offering from the outside world. "Hey," I said, extending a clawed hand without much thought, "I'm Max, this is Sarah." I motioned to Sarah next to me. "And you are?" ~~~~ OOC: Sorry so short, but I didn't want to write too much without Allison. ^_^
poster: Allison date: 11 April 2002, 1:57am EST "Annie, Annie Gallagher," I replied taking the offered hand. Maybe I can get more out of this guy than those twits gawking at my baby. "Listen do you know where I can find a guy named, Xavier?" "He’s around here somewhere," Max answered. Sarah also stuck out a hand; I shook it quickly and stepped back. "Could you be a bit more specific? I probably need to talk to him." My hand felt like it was trembling but I couldn’t figure out why so I glanced around before I saw that my hand was still in Sarah’s and my arm had lengthened when I moved away. Sarah hadn’t said anything yet; she was just looking at it, with wide eyes full of shock. "Oh this is just great," I muttered, moving my hand down to my side, where it hung near my knee. Sarah stepped away quickly as though she expected my arm to wrap itself around her neck. "Eeewwwww, that is just vile," a faceless voice sneered, looking at my arm. "You know what, fuck this, have a nice life, Max," I shot out, before pulling my keys out and opening my car door. I started the engine and gunned it a little warning those gathered around to get out of the way before streaking out of there, leaving the group sucking at my exhaust.
poster: Jen date: 12 April 2002, 2:17am EST Sarah turned to Max as the car peeled out of the parking lot. "Well?" "Well what?" "Aren’t you going to go after her?" Max blinked. "Uh yeah I guess so... Come on." "No," Sarah said glaring at the kids across the parking lot, who scattered rapidly under her furious glare. "I have something else I need to do. Besides you’d be much better at selling this place than I would." "Okay." Max brushed his lips across hers and headed for his car. ~~~~~~ "Like they could hide." Sarah scoffed as she followed the scent trail of the escaping kids up the stairs. "Halt! Up against the wall NOW!" Sarah tried not to smile as the five pre-teens stopped in their tracks and looked at her like frightened deer and quickly but clumsily complied. She was beyond pissed and these little brats were about to hear about it. "What the hell is wrong with you people?" "We-" "Shut up. You have no idea how lucky you are to be somewhere that you aren’t treated like a monster. How dare you treat someone else like that?" "We-" "Did I ask you for a comment? No? Then shut up." "Each and every one of you is a freak," she spat. "Redonza, how dare you call anyone’s mutation vile? Watching the blood going through your veins takes serious getting used to." Standing beside Hector, Paige giggled, bringing Sarah’s wrath down on her. Poking a finger at Paige’s chest, Sarah continued her tirade. "You think that skin shedding crap you do is pleasant looking? It’s not. You’re all a bunch of spoiled brats. Because of this place, you’re insulated from all the horrible things that people say and do to mutants out there and you go and treat someone looking for the same security and safety you’ve been given." Sarah took a deep breath, feeling much better now that she’d gotten that off her chest. "Now I suggest that you go find the Professor and tell him what you did." "But-" "But what?" Sarah took a deep breath, an idea dawning. "Tell you what...I’m going to give you a choice. Get up and run with me every day at 5:30 for a week or go tell the Professor." "You can’t-" "You wanna bet?" Sarah hissed, her face just inches from Hector’s face. "Run, or go tell the Professor how ungrateful and selfish and rude you were to someone like you. Choose." Sarah stepped back, looking each kid in the eye, in turn, demanding a response. She didn’t have to wait long, as each one grumbled out a ‘run’. "Good. I see that you at least have some brains. 5:30. Front steps. Dismissed." Sarah watched them scatter and then it hit her. She sounded just like the general. Trying to assimilate that bombshell, she almost missed the soft chucking behind her. Paige is Paige Guthrie aka Husk. poster: nacey date: 19 April 2002, 2:19pm EST I jumped into my vw beetle as fast as I could, gunning down the driveway, and then bursting through a dirt track that was a short-cut - it cut off the driveway, and I figured that it mused have been used to head runaway mutants off at the pass before. Had I been driving one of the new tin-can cars, I knew I couldn't have done this. Volkswagens were exceptional, and I'd often been given a hard time for that belief, especially by Logan (How dig you like a car with the engine in it's boot?). I screeched to a halt at the turn-off, and the new girl similarly slammed on the brakes. She jumped out of the car then, looking incredibly shat off. "Are you freakin' crazy?!" she yelled, '"You coulda got me *killed*!" I looked to my car and shrugged. "Um... sorry." "Yeah sorry," she growled. "What do you want? Can't you see I'm trying to get the hell our of here?" "Yeah, I don't get that," I said. "You came all the way here and you let a bunch of snotty kids freak you out of your rightful place here?" She snorted. "Listen, I know when I'm not wanted." "Look, those kids are spoilt, okay? They have attitude problems. They'll grow out of them. Anyways - you're older than them. It's not them you have to contend with." "So who will I have to contend with? Sarah? Did you see the look on her face?" I sighed. "She was surprised okay? She's a good person, I promise you that." "Right." "Look, I thought I'd never find someone who'd love me despite my deformities but Sarah does and-" She frowned in confusion, and it was then I remembered that all my fur was very much gone. I lifted my hands and flexed my claws. She shrank back a little, cause dude, they're sharp and scary looking. "Woah..." "Yeah," I said. "Generally I have spotty fur but sadly it's all been cut off - long story behind that." I lifted my long hair to reveal my pointy cat-ears. "See? I'm even more freakish than you are." She frowned at me. "Don't call me that." I just smiled at her. "Please come back - talk to Xavier at least. He'll help you control your powers."
poster: Allison date: 25 April 2002, 3:17am EST "Come back? You haven’t even let me leave yet," I grumbled. "Just give it a shot." I gave him a glare, but I knew it was pointless. Where was I going to go, back to Arizona? Even if the Diamondbacks did have a shot at the World Series again I don’t think I’d be welcomed back with open arms. I locked the doors, leaving my bags in the car this time, just incase I did decide to make my stay temporary, and followed Max back towards the mansion. The place just screamed money, fancy carpets, obscure paintings and just the order of it all. It was a bit troublesome; I was expecting some scary maid to pop out of some corner and yell at me for not wiping my boots. I was so paranoid I didn’t realize Max had stopped, so I crashed into him. He wobbled a bit; I got knocked on my ass. "Don’t any of you people come with break lights?" He grinned and pointed to a small leather couch, "No one here, at least not yet. Why don’t you take a seat, I’ll let the Professor know you’re here." I sank into the couch trying not to moan. I loved my Challenger, really I did but I’d been in that thing for months, the cushions here were just so inviting. I stretched out as best I could, feet hanging over one arm, they were hitting an end table so I shifted around a bit until I couldn’t feel it anymore. I found myself yawning and my eyelids began drooping before I slipped into a world of darkness.
poster: nacey date: 25 April 2002, 3:48am EST I didn't have to knock before I walked into the office; Xavier called me in. He smiled up at me knowingly, and I bowed my head to him instinctively - odd habit I had. He sat up straight from writing something, and placing down the pen primly, he folded his strangely strong looking hands. "Max," he said. "I take it you've found our new arrival?" "Found her?" I gave a snort. "I practically had to wrangle her, no thanks to some snotty comments from the kids." Xavier lifted a brow, but I shook my head, realising I'd squibbed. "No - it's okay man. Sarah and I sorted them out. She's waiting outside, if you want me to get her?" "Yes," said Xavier, "And if you could be so kind, also arrange some tea and biscuits." I looked confused till he reiterated, "Cookies, Max." "Oh, right!" I grinned and nodded, strolling out the door. Annie was laid out on the old leather comforter near the door-that-never-was (as I like to call it since it lacks a proper frame and knob and looks like a part of the wall), and was fast asleep. I chuckled, nudging her lightly. "Hey - wakey wakeeey!" "Guh! Fuh-off!" Arms lashed at mine and I jumped back. "Woah-ho!" I couldn't help but laugh. "I take it it was a long trip here eh?" "Don't even ask," she groaned. "Okay, I won't - Um - the Professor will see you now." I guided her to the door, and as she walked in I came in after her. I figured if the Professor didn't want me there he'd tell me to go, and usually he liked someone from the school there to make the new student in question feel more welcome. I wondered what Sarah was doing then, as it all reminded me of her. "Annie - Welcome to Xavier's School for the Gifted - I'm Professor Xavier. Do take a seat, won't you?"
poster: Amezri date: 28 April 2002, 11:14pm EST Cassandrea hissed as the metal arm caught her shoulder. She shifted and slipped out of its crushing grasp. Growling, she whirled in the air and drilled down on the droid in a high-powered spiral of water. Sparks flew through the air as liquid made contact with the robot's inner workings. Sensing motion behind her, she spun around with a tentacle extended, catching her opponent in the midsection. She grabbed one of its arms and flipped it to the ground. "Cassie! Wait!" Cassandrea froze in mid-action, indigo hair wild around her face. Recoiling as she realized that she had just thrown Sarah to the floor, she quickly helped her friend to her feet. "I didn't realize.. I'm sorry." Sarah dusted herself off. "I'm fine," she rubbed her shoulder, frowning slightly. "What the hell do you think you're doing anyway?" "Training," Cassie shrugged. "But I'm done." Before Sarah could get in another word, Cassandrea headed for the door. "It's all yours."
poster: Jen date: 29 April 2002, 12:33am EST Between those little brats, and Jean’s orders that I go clean up that mess - like I was the one responsible for the gooey mutant vomit and lopped off fur strewn all over the med-lab, I was in serious need of some release. Landing on my ass was just not part of my plan. I made it to the door just as the elevator closed. "Cassie wait! Shit." Sighing, I returned to the Danger Room and punched in the codes Logan gave me. I didn’t like anyone prying into my life, so I certainly wasn’t going to do it to Cass. Like I’d have any idea what to say if she did open up. With my luck, I’d make things worse. I didn’t have much more to think about after that, as I stuffed the three extra clips in my pocket and started to hunt. ~~~~~ I dropped to my knees and tried to push back the fire threatening to consume me as Logan had shown me. It was working, but slowly. The only way to succeed in the sims was to let instinct take over. I wonder about his sanity, assigning me this ‘homework.’ Those sims were... this isn’t just self-defense. Not by a long shot. What he’s training me for I don’t know. And I’m not sure I want to know.
